The Longevity Course

Christian leadership is tough! In fact it can be devastating and destructive. According to Dr. J. Robert Clinton, Professor of Leadership (retired) at Fuller Theological Seminary, only one out of three leaders in the Bible finished well, and it hasn’t been any easier for leaders today. Clinton defines “finishing well” as, “At the end of a person’s life, they have a vibrant, growing relationship with Christ, and they have essentially fulfilled their calling and left behind a legacy of righteousness.” We believe that God desires leaders to finish well in life and leadership and that it is possible! The Longevity course is designed to train leaders to live well and finish well.

THE PURPOSE: To prepare highly motivated, high capacity leaders to finish well. Participants will benefit from:
• Reflecting on their spiritual vitality, integrity, and faithfulness
• Evaluating their leadership strengths and weaknesses
• Validating their gift mix (spiritual gifts, natural abilities, acquired skills)
• Processing past and present challenges
• Gaining perspective on life and leadership
• Strengthening their purpose, strategy, and intentionality
• Receiving personal support through coaching

Dr. Richard Clinton, along with his father, Dr. J. Robert Clinton, has focused upon helping leaders get perspective on how God is developing them with the goal of helping every leader finish well. Richard is currently the pastor of the Springs Vineyard in Colorado Springs. He has spent the last 31 years in ministry in a variety of ministry roles such as being a church planting pastor, research/writer, professor, missionary and has mentor/coached numerous leaders. He completed a Masters and Doctorate of Ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary.

Dr. Paul Leavenworth is a teacher, mentor, and leadership development consultant. He has served in a variety of non-profit settings including higher education, church, and mission organizations. He has focused his life and leadership on empowering others to realize and fulfill their God-ordained destiny. He earned a B.S. degree in Liberal Studies (American History and American Literature) from Oregon State University, a M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and an Ed. D. in Counseling from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. He is also a certified Life Coach with CoachNet and a certified Coach/Mentor and Focused Living Facilitator with Leader/Breakthru.

Dr. Kris Miller is the founder and director of Flourish, an organization which exists for the formation and well-being of Christian leaders. He has twenty-five years of ministry experience as a pastor, professor, and administrator.
